The Insights Discovery Accreditation: What the IDA Programme Offers and Who It Is For

The Insights Discovery Accreditation, commonly known as the IDA, is a formal, immersive accreditation programme that qualifies participants to deliver Insights Discovery® profiles and facilitate Insights Discovery® workshops independently within their organisations or as external practitioners.

For L&D professionals, HR Business Partners, coaches and internal facilitators who work with the Insights Discovery® framework, the IDA represents the most significant step they can take in deepening both their understanding of the model and their ability to use it with genuine skill and confidence.

What the IDA Involves

The IDA is a four-day experiential programme, designed to do considerably more than teach participants how to read and deliver a profile. It is a deep immersion in the psychology and philosophy behind Insights Discovery®: the model architecture from the four Colour Energies through the eight types to the 72 type wheel positions, and the facilitation skills required to bring that depth to life for individuals and teams.

Participants engage with the model through the same experience they will create for others: receiving and exploring their own profile in depth, working in facilitated team sessions, practising debrief and facilitation skills in a supported environment and developing the reflective self-awareness that is the foundation of effective facilitation.

The programme covers the psychological foundations of the model, rooted in the typology of Carl Gustav Jung; the practical mechanics of profile generation, reading and delivery; the facilitation of team sessions using the Team Wheel; and the professional and ethical responsibilities that come with accreditation as an Insights Discovery® practitioner.

What Accreditation Qualifies You to Do

Upon completing the IDA, accredited practitioners are qualified to purchase Insights Discovery® Evaluators, generate Personal Profiles for their participants, deliver one-to-one profile debriefs and facilitate team workshops using the Insights Discovery® framework. They become part of the global Insights Discovery® network and gain access to the resources, tools and ongoing support that Insights provides to its community of practitioners.

Accreditation is not a one-time credential. Practitioners who continue to use the tool develop their facilitation depth over time and many return to more advanced Insights Discovery® programmes to deepen their capability further. The IDA is the foundation; the development it enables extends well beyond the four days of the programme itself.

Who the IDA Is For

The IDA is designed for individuals whose role involves developing people and who want to bring the Insights Discovery® framework into their work with genuine depth and authority.

This includes HR and L&D professionals within organisations who want to build an internal Insights Discovery® capability rather than relying exclusively on external practitioners for every programme. It includes coaches and executive coaches who want to integrate the framework into their coaching practice as a structured tool for building self-awareness in their clients. It includes consultants and facilitators who work in the leadership and team development space and want to extend their offering with a validated, globally recognised psychometric framework.

The IDA is not suited to those looking for a surface-level introduction to Insights Discovery®. It requires genuine commitment to the four-day programme and to the ongoing investment in facilitation practice that turns accreditation into real expertise.

Why Organisations Invest in Internal Accreditation

Organisations that build an internal Insights Discovery® capability through the IDA gain a number of practical advantages. Internal practitioners can deliver profiles and programmes at a pace and scale that would be difficult to achieve exclusively through external facilitation partnerships. They bring contextual knowledge of the organisation's culture, challenges and people that external facilitators, however skilled, take time to develop. And they sustain the Insights Discovery® language and practice between formal interventions, embedding the framework in the organisation's development culture rather than limiting its influence to scheduled workshop days.

HRC's Role in Delivering the IDA

At HRC, we have been an accredited Insights Discovery® training partner since 1996, as India's first and licensed legacy Insights partner. We deliver the IDA internationally. Ronjana Kalyanpur, HRC's Chief Impact Officer, is a member of the international faculty for Insights UK, running Accreditation and Train the Trainer programmes across India, the Asia Pacific region and internationally.

The IDA programmes we facilitate are designed to build not just technical competence in the model, but the facilitation depth, personal awareness and professional confidence that make a practitioner genuinely effective in a wide range of individual and organisational contexts.

If your organisation is considering building an internal Insights Discovery® capability, or if you are an individual looking to bring Insights Discovery® into your coaching or L&D practice, we would welcome a conversation about whether the IDA is the right next step.
